We have access to technology for doing even the simplest of tasks, be it storing new phone numbers setting reminders, or mailing . Can being a slave to technology create minor problems? Yes it would.. more so when you depend on a gadget for every small detail.
A personal experience that repeats itself every now and then is the use of GPS for navigation, it actually creates more problems than actually give directions.
The GPS is a very funny device, having its own ideas and seldom helps without confusing the user. Its full use and its thought process is like finding the value of "x" , it never fails to confuse the user.
The user is taken through a maze of yellow and blue lines happily with the device taking reins of the travel in its hands and making the driver have a tough time navigating . But the device remains unperturbed it knows where it is going or so it thinks so what if the road it wants you to go doesn't exist , so what if the road is under "Namma Metro", so what if the road that was functioning properly till an hour ago suddenly becomes one -way route?? The GPS has no solution for this if it says go left you should go left other wise it will start hurting itself going round and round and round and sometimes out of anguish will take you back to the spot where you started your drive. It has its own way of getting back at you and will leave no stone unturned to ensure that you follow its instructions by confusing you more than ever... if you are new to some place it will make sure that you are taken down a bumpy path or the " road less travelled" But the GPS surely makes your drive rather every drive you depend on it unique, you go to places never seen before, and even make you swear that you won't use it the next time, but it knows we believe in machines and that it will be called upon again to play its role of taking you in circles and confusing you.. it is after all a navigator that you need...

Dear Mala, I'm sorry, I saw your request for Jayabalan stories today, since I've been busy with work.I'm afraid the writer is no more with us. However, there is a blog of his that I used to follow, which is as interesting and rib tickling as his Jayabalan stories.
